SCC (Sicherheits-Certifikat-Contraktoren)

is a method to certify a safety management system. It considers requirements of occupational safety, health and environmental protection.

SCC applies to companies (contractors)

which operate permanent construction sites and/or singular small, medium and large construction sites and/or carry out permanent projects and/or small, medium and large projects.

Which use does SCC have?

  • It raises the awareness of safety of the employees and superiors
  • Improvement of legal certainty for entrepreneurs and superiors
  • Occupations with a high risk potential will be carried out by comprehensively trained personnel.
  • Reduction direct and indirect accident costs
  • Uniform procedure for the evaluation of contractors with regard to occupational safety and health protection.
  • Uniform procedure for the evaluation of contractors with regard to occupational safety and health protection.
  • Competitive advantages for certified companies

Who can be certified?

The target group for this procedure are “contractors for technical services”. These are companies that provide certain technical services for a customer on the basis of a service or work contract. Basically, only business units, such as a single branch, can be certified. These must be as independent as possible. Normally, a single construction site does not meet these requirements.
  • employ less than 35 people and do not act as main contractors.
  • These are companies that do not employ any other subcontractors.

The SCC*-Certificate is meant for companies that

  • act as contractors
  • employ more than 35 people and act as main contractors.

When can one be certified?

An SCC safety management system can be audited, which means checked and certified, according to the SCC procedure, if it has been introduced or implemented in the company for at least three months.

What influences the scope of certification?

  • Company size and number of employees, shift operation
  • SCC* or SCC** standard?
  • Organizational structure
  • Number of locations
  • Number of projects (construction sites) in the sense of an independent construction management on site
